SSSGL - MEMBERS’ SPRING BREAKFAST MEETING

APRIL 7, 2026 - Houston Hall

 

Call to Order:  Chairman Dale Brown called the meeting to order at 8:45am with 63 members present.

 

Moment of Silence: Chairman Brown requested a moment of silence for Ron Miller (Nov.) and Bill Cinadr (Jan.) who passed since our October 7th Fall Breakfast.

 

Invocation: Terry Bartlett provided our Breakfast Invocation.

 

Recessed for Breakfast and Chairman Brown called the meeting to order at 9:15am and thanked Charlie Shook for another wonderful breakfast.

 

Prior to the Officer and Committee Chairman reports Chairman Brown reminded all members that volunteering for League positions makes our SSSGL possible.

 

Secretary, Chuck Wilson – Introduction of Mike Kost, Assistant Secretary.  The October 7th Fall Breakfast Meeting Minutes were unanimously approved after a motion by John Eichenlaub and second by Jim Petruccio.

 

Treasurer, Pat Rochford – Completed 2025 with a positive cash balance of $2,069 and project the same for 2026.  Max Devia will serve as Assistant Treasurer for 2026. The Board will pursue adding an automated method of dues payment in 2027 such as Venmo.

 

Statistician/Website Manager, John Eichenlaub – The website password was changed Jan. 1, 2026.  The website now has position descriptions for all officer and committee jobs posted for member review.  Rounds played per course in 2025:  Good Park – 792, Chenoweth – 595 and Loyal Oak – 402.

 

Nominations Chairman, Keith Limbacher – Introduced and asked all officer and committee chairman to stand as introduced.  Keith will be looking for Food Committee members to replace Floyd & Terry as Chairmen in 2027 and for a league Vice Chairman in 2027.

 

Membership Chairman, Tony Virgalitte – Nine new members joined as of April 7th.   Seven new members attended the breakfast and were introduced by Tony.  Estimated paid, active members as of April 7th is 93.

 

Starter Chairman, Dale Brown for Ed Sims – The restated staring procedures e-mailed in March were reviewed for 2026.

 

 

 Starting times

18-hole golfers - 7:30am at GP & LO, 7:45am at CH.  Notify SSSGL Starter that you are playing.

9-hole golfers – ID Cards to SSSGL Starter 8:10am GP & LO, 7:40am at CH.

 

Tournament Committee, Ken Kot – Four Play Days will be held in 2026: June 10th, July 8th, August 12th and September 9th.  All will be scrambles with a variety of formats to be announced.

 

Food Committee, Terry Avant & Floyd Crognale – 2026 will be Terry & Floyd’s final year; need volunteers to work with them and then become a chairman in 2027.

 

Chairman’s Report – Dale Brown

·       Pace of Play in 2026 should be approximately 21/4 hours per 9 holes.

·       Review “Ready Golf” guidelines.  As an example, hit the ball if you are ready and another player is on the other side of the fairway.  -

·       Three over par is the max score per hole: 6, 7 or 8!

·       Good Park     9 Walk = $16   9 Cart = $22  18 Walk = $22   18 Cart = $34

·       Loyal Oak      9 Walk = $14   9 Cart = $20  18 Walk = $20   18 Cart = $28 (Ply Day $25)

Old Business

·       Chuck Wilson, Dan Bishop – Akron Felt out of business could not reorder SSSGL polo shirts.  Looking at three other companies that may provide a similar quality and priced shirt.

 

New Business

·       Off season golf (Mar.-Apr.) & (Oct.-Nov.) – E-mail Joe Cassalinova if you want to be added to the contact list.

·       Pine Valley Outing – Dale Brown will work with the officer team to set a Tuesday or Thursday date in 2026.  Results will be reviewed at the 2026 Fall Breakfast.
