MINUTES
SSSGL – MEMBERS FALL BREAKFAST MEETING
October 7, 2025 – Houston Hall
Call to Order: Chairman Ed Sims called the meeting to order at 8:45AM with 50 Members in attendance.
Moment of Silence – No Members have passed since the April 2025 Spring Breakfast.
Invocation: Duke Wilson
Recessed for Breakfast and the meeting was called back to order by Chairman Sims at 9:15AM.
Thanks to the following by Chairman Sims:
· Charlie Shook for a wonderful breakfast.
· Ken Kot – and the Tournament Committee (Dale Brown, Joe Crookston, Mike Fuller, Joe Toris, Dan Bishop & Joe Palmiero) for an excellent job in 2025!
· Terry Avant and Floyd Crognale – and the Food Committee (Bill Cinadr, John Boal) for providing delectable meals for our 4 Play Days!
· Tom Golenski – for being our Starter at Loyal Oak and Chenoweth for the past 9 years.
· League Officers – Dale Brown (Vice-Chairman), Pat Rochford & Bob McConnel - Assistant (Treasurer), John Eichenlaub & Max Devia - Assistant (Website Manager/Statistician), Chuck Wilson (Secretary), Keith Limbacher (Starters), Tony Virgalitte (Nominations), and Dave Elzemeyer (Membership & serving 5 years on our Board.)
· Lenny Sikora for volunteering to be our 2026 Vice Chairman.
· Reminder – Volunteers make all our League activities possible!
· Chuck Wilson: “Special thanks to Ed Sims for serving as our Chairman starting in June of 2024 due to Keith Limbacher’s health emergency and continued for all of 2025!! It is sincerely appreciated that you stepped right up and did an excellent job of providing continuity for our League!”
Officer and Committee Reports:
Secretary – Chuck Wilson: The April 8th Spring Breakfast Meeting Minutes were unanimously approved after a motion by John Boal and a second by John Eichenlaub.
Assistant Treasurer – Bob McConnell (for Pat Rochford): Year end cash is estimated to be $2,120 vs. the Budget of $1,923. Copies of the 2025 Cash Flow Report are available upon request.
Statistician/Website Manager – John Eichenlaub: The password on our website will be changed for 2026 effective January 1st. The 2025 Statistician’s Report will be posted to our SSSGL website. 2025 Awardees – Greg Smith Iron Man with most rounds at 51 and Val Solowiow Most Improved Handicap at 3.8 per 9.
Ken Kot – Tournament Committee 2025 Recap: A Play Day Survey was distributed to all present to evaluate from 1 to 4 the four formats played in 2025. The results will be distributed during the next week.
Terry Avant/Floyd Crognale – Food Committee Report: 2026 will be the last year for Terry and Floyd to Chair the Food Committee. Volunteers were requested to start in 2026 so they can be trained to become Chairman in 2027.
Dave Elzemeyer – Membership Report: For 2025 there were 93 paid members.
Keith Limbacher – Starter Committee Report:
· Special thanks to Tom Golenski for serving as our regular Starter at Loyal Oak and Chenoweth. 2025 will mark Tom’s 9th year volunteering for this important position.

Motion to approve by John Boal, second by Tom Golenski and all above were unanimously approved by the Members present.

Old Business
· SSSGL Polo Shirts, Hats, ¼ Zip Tops – Chuck Wilson/Dan Bishop – Will check with Akron Felt to determine pricing and notify League Members on items available.
New Business
· Winter Breakfasts will start on Thursday, Oct. 9th at Akron Family and Monday, Oct. 13th at Farmer Boy (Cuyahoga Falls). An e-mail will be sent to Members on Wed. Oct. 8th.
· Annual Newsletter will be sent late February.
· Winter Golf – Contact Joe Cass if you want to receive an e-mail.
